    2016 Draft Location BOOKED

OIL Draft to be held September 4th, draft weekend to run September 2-5.
Get ready for an epic draft weekend. After dealing with the hustle and bustle of Bricktown and Dallas last year, we'll be drafting at the Roberts Retreat in the serene woods of east central Oklahoma. We'll be on a private lake with sleeping for 32. The best part is that we'll be only 90 minutes from Oklahoma City. Don't worry about driving four hours to Tahlequah or Broken Bow. This is in the Konawa/Ada area.

Click Below to View Venue on HomeAway.com:

    Donate to the Cause:

The venue was pricey, but if everyone donates what they can, it'll be no problem. The total is $4,025 for three nights for all of us. We have about $850 in the OIL account to put towards the draft, and I will donate my fair share to the cause. That leaves $2,675 for us to raise. Please donate what you can. You can donate via PayPal or send me a check. It'll go into the OIL's checking account.
I know it sounds like a lot, but if we all donate one month of VA disability pay (if you receive it), we're golden. Whatever one month of disability or drill pay is for you, consider putting it in the OIL's coffers (unless you're Schuster and get your VA check delivered by a Brinks truck* every month). You won't regret it.

Book of OIL: Volume Five (2015) Now Available

    Picture
The Fifth Volume of the Book of OIL is now available in both hardcover and softcover. Because these are printed on-demand, they are more expensive than the typical book you would find at a store. I assure you the price is not inflated; the OIL will never make money off these books (especially when you tally the 100s of hours I spent compiling it). You can find each volume of the Book of OIL in paperback and Kindle on Amazon. Here's what you can expect in Volume Five:
Volume Five covers the events of 2015, the 10th season of the OklahomIraqis League. It marked a decade of camaraderie and competition, including a SECFOR reunion, league expansion, and a draft party at the Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium. As such, it deserved a Book of OIL volume all its own.

Volume Five includes everything one would expect in the Book of OIL: discussion of the league's new managers; coverage of the 10-year SECFOR reunion; draft day regret; trade disputes; devastating injuries; playoff heartbreak; and championship glory. But it also includes a full accounting of the OIL Record Book; all-time head-to-head records; all-decade teams for the league and teams; detailed manager pages for each OILer; Rivalry Week pairings for each conference; the unveiling of the OIL Hall of Fame; an OIL style guide; and, for the first time in the Book of OIL, the OIL bylaws. Put simply, this is the most comprehensive volume of our history to date. Over 150 pages of appendices ensure it is as much the OIL Encyclopedia as it is an oral history of the OIL's 10th season.
