It wasn't quite on par with the AFL's epic upset of the NFL in Super Bowl III, but the last-place Hangovers this week upset the previously undefeated, top ranked Reapers in a low scoring affair. The loss marks the last undefeated team in the OIL and the DBFA, but Baldwin's Reapers remain in first place. In fact, the OIL's top three remain unchanged. Everything below the top three is a jumbled mess and the playoffs are a complete mystery at this point. Good luck in the week ahead and continue to fight for every win. The playoffs will count more than ever on how teams finish the stretch run. Here are your standings as of week eight:

Another week, another victory for Baldwin as his Reapers continue to beat the odds en route to a 7-0 record. Dead Again further separated himself from the pack and is sitting pretty in second place. At 5-2, the Arrogant Americans come out of their bye-heavy week primed for a run down the stretch. At the other end of the spectrum, AmmoDog and Darc Narc both notched their second win of the season, upsetting the Dirty Hippies and DominationStation, respectively, in the process. The Hangovers, fresh off their second win of the season, disappointed against Morgan's Whackers and fell to 2-5. As the second half of the season progresses, there is a lot of competition for the final three playoff spots.

As things begin to level out some, it's interesting to look at the number of teams that could potentially be 4-4 by the end of week eight.  Every guy you start is important during these critical bye-heavy weeks.  As each manager analyzes the standings in coming weeks, it will be pretty apparent that a majority of league is teetering on the edge between playoffs and public humiliation.

The Dirty Hippies have the highest point total in the league, while they occupy fifth place.  That will be an important fact soon as point totals become more and more important the closer we get to the playoffs.

Baldwin's Reapers are still undefeated.  He has made a few moves, but several teams are roaring full steam ahead to dethrone him from the zenith of the standings.  SoonerJack, the reigning champion, sits at 3-3. If his team doesn't pick it up soon, the OIL is guaranteed a new champion in year seven. This weekend will be great. Good luck, everyone (but Finch).

Five weeks into the season, only four teams appear to be out of the playoff race. Of the 10 teams still in the playoff hunt, four are former champions: Cliburn; Pyle; Morgan and Bruesch. Baldwin is at 5-0 but has RB depth issues, and Amendola just got injured for a significant period of time. Soonerjack is at 2-3 but is a two-time champion and is out making moves to improve. Everyone between them is in a position to become the next OiL Bowl champion.

Week three saw another unbeaten fall as the Arrogant Americans were blown out by the Dogs of War. Baldwin's Reapers scraped by once again and sit atop the league at 4-0. After the lone unbeaten team, a dog pile of eight teams have a record of .500 or better. As the season goes on, the herd will thin.
